Spring is almost here and fashion designers have already shown their summer collections months ago. Shooting again their outfits wouldn't be that original. We did want to give you an alternative idea of their current aesthetics and collection. Hence, we decided to ask five Greek fashion designers to let us present their textiles and explain to us why they chose them. We placed them in different locations in the city of Athens.
Dimitris Petrou who is the only one who hasn't yet showcased his Spring Summer 2012 collection - since his collection is mostly tailor made - is the first to present exclusively at the Eternal Optimist his new inspiration and work. We asked him to comment on his Spring Summer 2012 textiles and he told us "I chose floral cotton poplin and canvas as a new fabric in my Spring Summer 2012 collection. Conveying a nostalgic and a bit retro feel, you will see these fabrics used in jackets, pants, shorts and dresses, bringing to mind those playful years of childhood that we used to laugh and play on and below the trunks in the old cottage house of our grandparents".
