Report: June the 19th 2012, Versailles. The magic, the harmonies and the dissonances of Joana Vasconcelos confront the magnificence of the palace. She redirects, metamorphose and displace the objects, shifts the symbols, cuts across time. She dialects between past and present and forms part of history itself. Joana Vasconcelos after the American Jeff Koons, the Japanese Takashi Murakami, and the French Xavier Veilhan and Bernar Venet, is the first woman and the youngest artist to show her work in the setting of the absolute historical reference that is Versailles...her universe at the same time exuberant and refined, precise and enormous is the contemporary appropriation of a legendary place. Care for a walk?
